Though a hard core computer professional or a gaming enthusiast may need a laptop with top features, for other people, who have to perform lighter tasks, huge array of excellent but cheap laptops are available.

Buying Cheap laptop
Tips to choose Excellent & cheap Laptops for Office-

When you are buying laptop for your office worker or for light work, there is no point of investing a lot on laptop features which you may not need. For example, now a days many laptops like Macbook Air comes with SSD (Solid state drive), which makes your computer faster and takes less space, but at the same time it increases the cost of laptop by a great extent. Same goes with Processor and RAM of laptop. More over, when you are working on saving money and get a budget laptop for your office employee for work like Word Processing, data entry you might not need a high end processor, upgraded RAM, graphics card, Webcam and so on.

There are many entry level laptop offered by companies like Dell, HP, Sony which you can purchase and save considerable amount on your laptop purchases. Here are 3 important tips and parts of a laptop, where you can save money.

Choosing a Budget Processor

People who use laptop for normal activities such as, doing some office work, surfing, sending emails, and playing games with ordinary graphics might want to go for an Intel dual core processor. This is embedded in most of the computers that are being used now. Also, people who work in IT companies, that involve lighter work can use it, as it a versatile version and can cope up with most of your work, unless and until you have to perform some heavy duty work. Many laptop manufacturing companies like Acer, HP, Dell, etc use it and are available at considerable prices. Just to let know, a laptop as powerful as the one, using a dual core processor can serve the purpose for most consumers.

RAM – Want to have the cheap and best?

RAM, which is known as Random Access Memory, for a cheap and best laptop will be around 2GB. RAM, can be quantified as per the number of random applications a laptop can perform. More intensified users who are interested in latest videogames with plenty of graphics and computer professionals who access random applications and perform hardcore programming and multimedia mat require a greater RAM capacity. But normal users and professionals from other departments, who do not perform hardest of the tasks, 2GB RAM should be adequate. Hence this is a normal requirement and is employed in most of the notebooks, which targets professionals from a huge sector and this is the best and affordable alternative for most of them.

Another good thing about RAM is, you can always upgrade it if required. You don’t need to spend a lot when buying bulk laptop for your employees and you can simply upgrade RAM at later stage if required. Many manufacturers like Dell, HP offers cheap RAM upgrade option which sounds very lucrative, but before investing on it ask yourself: Do your employee work really require that much of RAM? I’m sure you giving laptop for work and not for entertainment. Right?

Hard Disk Drive (HDD) – Don’t go for more than needed!!

This is yet another important factor that drives the price of your lappy. For most of us, a standard memory hard drive will be acceptable because, even a HDD of standard size can store heaps of data. Hence there is no need to spend those extra few hundred dollars for something you might not need. In case, if you find in future, that you have to store more data, you can always buy an external hard drive and connect it to your system externally which will also serve the same purpose as the internal one. This is a better idea to buy some time, if you are unable to buy a notebook with huge memory, when you have limited funds.

A basic 150 GB HDD is enough for your employee and if require in future, you can always take help of extrenal HDD to extend the storage. Also when it comes to enterprise setup, you can take advantage of cloud storage instead of local storage for quick access of all files.

The above mentioned three are the important factors that rule the price of your next laptop. With the above mentioned configurations, there are a huge number of laptops available in all most all the top selling brands, as these are the most wanted ones. Though the above mentioned information is quite handy, it is recommended that you do as much research as possible from your side, to find the best laptop that fits you. After all it’s your money and we care for it as much as you do!!

HP TouchPad Can Now Dual-boot WebOS & Android 2.3.5 [Video]

Looks like the abandoned HP TouchPad is going to have a bright future after all. HP decided to stop production of the HP TouchPad and stop development on it’s operating system for tablets and mobile phones, the webOS. Soon after, the TouchPad received huge discounts on it’s selling price, dipping as low as $99. People took that opportunity to get themselves a feel of the webOS and the TouchPad.

Hence, developers set out to find a solution for the problem that was the webOS. Sooner or later, it will turn out to be hindrance and the TouchPad’s more than decent hardware due to no updates and service. The team’s most important task was to make a Custom Android build run on the HP Touchpad. And they were successful at it, however, nothing seemed to be working, not even the touchscreen.

We recently showed you the video of the RootWikiz team from the TouchDroid project showing you the CyanogenMod 7 boot on the TouchPad. And already, they’ve successfully achieved the ability to dual-boot both of the operating systems. Dual-booting is an important factor when you’re trying to run a non- compatible OS on a device. If something goes wrong, which is bound to happen, you can boot in to WebOS and try out some other build.

That’s what has been accomplished today by the developers of the ” target=”_blank”>RootWikiz team. Here’s what they said;

We have dual boot working as you can see in the video. It can boot both android + webos. At the moment we are utilizing one kernel for both OS’s. This may change in the future. You may ask why? Simple answer is we don’t have units to spear to science. Many of the developers working on this, Do Not Have Units. And the Few that do once they brick we have to wait on HP to repair them. (which will only slow development)

I’m not going to keep you waiting, so here’s the video of HP Touch Dual-booting WebOS and Android.

If you own a TouchPad? Then it’s time you were really happy about it!!

HP TouchPad Running CyanogenMod 7, Android 2.3.5 [Video]

So HP decides to stop production of WebOS devices and the HP TouchPad sales increased as if the world were going to end and the only way to survive was to buy one. No, of course that’s not why the sales have increased tremendously. The HP TouchPad is a brilliant device with a good collection of hardware that some folks believe is better than the iPad 2. However, all that doesn’t matter as HP has stopped production of said device and will soon be selling webOS too. So, naturally, the deflation in the pricing.

Few days ago, the HP TouchPad 16GB was going online for a mere $99 and the 32GB for $149. The online stores that were selling the TouchPad quickly went out of stock and it’s no longer available anywhere on the internet of in stores. HP has said that they will be clearing off all the remaining tablets for the same price in the same way, but we have no idea when that Firesale will kick off again. Since the tablet has some pretty nice hardware, a 9.7 inch display and a very Linux friendly processor, it has all the required ingredients for being Android friendly too. Yup, that’s one of the main reasons why people want to get their hands on the TouchPad.

The tablet was seen by Mr. Blurrycam running Android OS right after HP announced the tablets horrible fate. Later on, the TouchDroid project was started by four developers who took an oath to run Android Gingerbread on the HP TouchPad. And now, days later, they’ve made some progress and the future looks good. They have managed to cook an all new Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 ROM based on CyanogenMod 7 for the TouchPad. And these aren’t any normal cooks, they’re the CyanogenMod developers themselves, the masters of custom Android ROMs.

There’s a video of CM7 running on the device, but nothing is working yet, except for the display. The touch doesn’t work and the graphics is all messed up. Yet, it does feel good to see that familiar Android on the HP. Watch after the break;

So? Happen to have a TouchPad lying around somewhere? Don’t worry, it will be reborn. Read the official announcement by the guys over here.
