Facebook bulk Image UploaderSome time back when Facebook acquired Instagram, we expected something awesome from Facebook. Today, Facebook launched a new app in App store which is a camera app for iPhone Facebook users.

Facebook launched Facebook camera app for iOS. As name suggests, this is an image uploader app for Facebook but not only that, it has much more option then simple image uploading. Probably, this is the reason why Facebook acquired Instagram for $1 billion.

Let’s look into some of the features of this new app from Facebook.

This new Facebook app integrated the features of Instagram app and made image uploading on iPhone/iPad and other iOS device so easily. If you are one of those who wants to upload bulk images from your camera gallery on Facebook, or take and upload picture to Facebook, this free Facebook Cam app is for you.

You can also browse images uploaded by your friends and you can like and comment on it. With this launch, here are list of Instagram filters, this official Facebook cam app has got:

Though, I’m hoping to see more awesome Instagram filters in coming days. In recent time, Twitpic launched their Twitter image sharing app, and it has also some awesome image effects. Anyhow, getting back to this app, if you are one of those who love to upload images on Facebook, this dedicated app will make your work easy. Specially, earlier uploading multiple images on Facebook was a headache and this new app, you can quickly select all/multi images from your image gallery and upload them.

When I installed this app, it didn’t even asked for my login (I believe because of official Facebook iOS app I’m using), and here is a screenshot of an Image which I’m taking from my iPhone and adding effects using Facebook camera app.

Once you have added the effect, all you need to do is click on compose or put the tick mark and click on upload to share photos on Facebook. You can crop photo, if you like which is another great feature for photo editing. You can also tag people directly using this Fb camera app.

You can download this app from official app store here. Facebook has launched another app call Facebook app manager few days back, which will let page admins manage their pages easily.

I’m not sure why Facebook is coming up with separate app for everything and why not integrate all the features in official app. Specially, this image effect features from Instagram, will be very handy for Facebook app for iOS. Facebook has no doubt turned out be an essential part of our online activities, no matter how hard you try but getting away from Facebook craze is a bit difficult these days. Attaching a link or a photo, writing a status update on MyPad is pretty simple and easy. You can also configure MyPad to publish contents to your Twitter account automatically. App’s photo viewer is also pretty cool, you can view photo albums in a slide show and also download these photos in a flash. Though there is no option of tagging the photos but even then you can play around with your photos. Event is the other useful feature of the app that I liked, just click on a date and the event for the whole week will pop-up automatically.

Well I really loved this app, mainly because of its interface and fast speed. The free version of the app will be having ads, but if you prefer ad-free version then you can download it MyPad+ from App store for $0.99.

Facebook App for iPad Not Working [Here’s How to Fix it]

We told you yesterday on How-to get the Facebook for iPad, which was nicely hidden within the iPhone app. There was this nice little trick that could bring it from the dead and at first it worked, but then Mr. Mark realized that his iPad app was leaked and started blocking it all together. So, the app turned out to not work for people who tried to perform the hack today and also it wasn’t allowing users to log in. It had been blocked.

So, if you’re stuck with the beautiful Facebook app on your iPad and aren’t able to use it, then follow this tutorial to make it work again. To do this, you’ll need to have a jailbroken iPad. That’s all you need. If you haven’t jailbroken your iPad 2 then follow this tutorial here. If you don’t have Facebook app installed on your iPad, then download the Facebook for iPhone and sit tight, I mean follow the steps below;

  • First of all, you’ll need to make your way to Cydia>Sections>Tweaks and search for an app called FaceForward. If you don’t see it the first time, it’s best that you hit the refresh button. You should be able to see it now.

  • Select FaceForward and then Install it. It’s a really small file and will only take about 7 seconds. Once it’s installed, it’ll ask you to Restart your SpringBoard. Do as it says and your iPad will go blank and get back to the Homescreen.

  • Now, Open the Facebook App and you should be able to login without any problems.

Facebook will probably patch this hack in future updates, but until then you can enjoy the amazing Facebook app for iPad.

Airtel Launches USSD Based Facebook Service in India

You must be familiar with Facebook’s notification service on your mobile device that will not cost you anything. Recently Airtel India, launched another new service to help feed your Facebook addiction through your mobile device. Usually people don’t update Facebook statuses, comment or send messages because it charges them, but now Airtel has come out with a plan that will let you do it all for just Rs.1.

Airtel has launched the Worlds first USSD based Facebook service that lets users in India to update their Facebook status messages and much more without using GPRS or 3G. You can update your status for free, but if you want to check your notifications, like/comment on photos, statuses, read messages, reply and others then it’ll charge you Rs.1 for an entire day. That’s 30 INR a month for unlimited access of Facebook from any mobile device using Airtel connection.

We just received the official Press Release Statement from Airtel earlier today saying,

Do you miss keeping in touch with family and friends on Facebook, simply because you don’t access internet on your mobile phone? Your favourite social network is all set to be just the press of a button away.  India’s leading telecommunications company, Bharti Airtel announced that starting today, its 150 million plus customers in India can now simply dial *325# (and “*fbk#” for non-qwerty mobile handsets) to access Facebook – without subscribing to data plans. To deliver this, Airtel has launched the world’s first USSD-based service innovation that will allow its mobile customers to update their Facebook status messages, view / comment on / ‘Like’ news feed, post on friends’ walls, find / add friends, confirm friend requests, view notifications and much more without using the internet or activating GPRS capabilities.

How to update Facebook Status on Airtel Network for Free

Using this new USSD(Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) based service to update your Facebook Status on Airtel Network is really very simple and quick. To get it working follow these steps:

  • Dial *325# from your mobile device.
  • Once done you’ll get the notification asking you to enter the Facebook Username and Password.

  • You should keep in mind that when you enter your username, for example [email protected], it should be entered in the following way. name at mail.com !! This is important.
  • After entering your password it’ll show a Menu with some Facebook features listed on it.

  • From the menu Reply with the desired number,for example 2 for Update Status and so on. You should remember that only updating Status is free using this service. Everything else will cost you Rs. 1 for a day. That is not so bad after all, but if you’re a regular GPRS user then this may not be suitable for you.

  • Then all you need to do is reply with your Status update and it will be posted on your Facebook profile.

That’s it, your status will be posted on your Facebook wall. Overall I liked the idea of free service to access Facebook. Though if you wish to use the paid version of this service, I would suggest opt for Airtel Unlimited GPRS plan which will cost you 98INR and you can access Facebook along with all other sites.

Now enjoy Facebook on Airtel using any mobile device, from anywhere without the need to activate GPRS.
