Synchronicity 2.0 Lets You Use iPhone While Syncing with iTunes

Synchronicity is one the most popular iPhone Jailbreak applications for just one reason. It Allows you to use the iPhone while syncing with iTunes. You can run just any app or make calls while syncing in the background. Synchronicity 2.0 is available in Cydia for jailbroken iPhones.

Don’t you find the idea mentioned above very exciting? I certainly do specially the ability to make calls while syncing. Remember those times when it seems like iTunes is syncing for ages specially when you are transferring a lot of audio or video or installing a big game like Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on your iPhone. Well, Synchronicity has been updated to version 2.0 now and makes this job easy for you.

What does Synchronicity do?

Once installed, this app will show a Sigma icon in the status bar(earlier a red status bar) and you will be able to use any app or make phone calls while iPhone is syncing. However, iPod app won’t be available in order to prevent it from getting corrupted. Also, if any game or application is being updated it will automatically quit in order to prevent data corruption. Synchronicity 2.0 has included great speed enhancements over the first version. It’s an unobtrusive and lightweight hack. If Synchronicity can do this so can Apple and maybe they will incorporate this feature someday.

Where to download Synchronicity?

You can download this app from Cydia. I really think this is one of the best Cydia apps and that you won’t mind paying $2 for it. Head over to Cydia and search for this app by typing its name.

In case your iPhone is not jailbroken, take a look at our iPhone jailbreak guide to install apps from Cydia.

  1. Yeah, that’s one of the annoying things about syncing.. you cannot use your iPhone unless if you cancel the sync 🙁
Too bad we have to jailbreak our iPhones though to get this
