How-to Take Screenshots on Symbian Anna

Nokia official announced their slightly modified operating system, Symbian Anna, with the release of Nokia E6 and Nokia X7. They’ve got a lot of operating systems under their sleeve, and all of them have different applications to capture screenshots.

Taking screenshots of a mobile device comes in really handy when you’ve got to share something with your friends or just write a review on a certain application. Unlike iPhone and Android, Nokia doesn’t have any dedicated shortcuts for taking screenshots. To take screenshots on your Nokia Symbian Anna device, you’ll need to download an application and here I’ll be telling you about the two best screenshot applications for your Symbian Anna device.

This will also work with devices running on Symbian^3, since they’ll be soon getting the Symbian Anna update as well.

Best Screen Snap

A very easy to use and lightweight screen capture tool that lets you assign certain keys to take screenshots. As you can see above, I used to Dictaphone button on the Nokia E6 to take screenshots. You can change the image size and also the location to where the images will be saved. Hide the application and use the assigned key to take screenshots of whatever it is that you want to. Best Screen Snap is available for free on Ovi Store. This application is also compatible with previous versions of Symbian operating system.

Download Best Screen Snap.

Another easy to use screen capturing application for devices running on Symbian^3 and Symbian Anna. Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide any options to choose a custom button to take screenshots. To use this app, you’ll have to launch it and press the Camera button to take screenshots. You can however, change the image type and the location. Unfortunately, there is not camera button in Nokia E6, hence it cannot be used. It’s available for free on the Ovi Store.

Download ScreenCapture.

Those are the two most used and really good screenshot taking applications for Nokia Symbian Anna or Symbian^3 devices. If you have a Nokia phone running on one of those OS and are in need of a screen capture app then look no more.
