How to Stop Automatic Songs Sync between iPhone and iTunes

iTunes is a complete management software for your iPhone. Though one thing which I never liked is when ever I connect my iPhone to my laptop, itunes start syncing music folder with my iPhone 3G s.

To stop this automatic syncing, you need to make a small change in the settings.

Follow the simple process :

Connect your iPhone to your laptop. Open iTunes and click on your iphone name. In the summery field , put a tick mark on the option which says :

Manually manage music and videos.

Find this screenshot to see how you can do it.

From now on, your itunes will not automatically sync music with your iPhone.

How to Create Ringtones for iPhone using iTunes

I’m a big fan of custom ringtones and despite of famous iPhone pre built ring-tones, I always prefer to create ringtones for iPhone by myself.  There are many iPhone apps which let you create ringtone directly from iPhone but here we will be using iTunes to make ringtones for our iPhone. I have been using this tutorial for my iPhone4 ringtones .

iPhone ringtones can easily be created using iTunes. To create ringtone for your iPhone follow these simple steps.

So lets get started with simple 1-2-3 step and create our first ringtone. All you need to pick is a nice song, which you want to convert into ring-tone.

Create Ringtones for iPhone with 1-2-3 step:

Select a song for which you want to create ringtone. Right click and click on get info.

In the option tab , select the start and stop time for your ringtone. Keep it lower than 35 seconds.

Create ringtones for iPhone

Now right click on song and click on Convert To AAC. In this case it will create a 30 second Aac file. Now right click on newly created aac file and click on show in explorer. Rename the file with extension .m4r

For example if your song name is songs.aac rename it to song.m4r , once done, all you need is to transfer the audio file to iPhone and from settings on your device, you can select the newly created ringtone. I’m sure it’s not something tough and anyone with little computer how to knowledge can end up making unlimited songs.

You can also upload these custom tones for your iPhone on file sharing sites and forums. Do let us know if you are stuck in middle or finding it hard to create one for your phone.

iTunes not Recognizing iphone and Ipod

This is one of the troubleshooting post for iPhone  and iPod when itunes fail to recognizing your iphone or ipod.

There are multiple solution to this problem.

Easy Solution :

Download the latest version of itunes and install it. Try plug in your iphone and see if itunes is able to recognize your iPhone. If yes, buy me a beer else follow the second step.

Second solution : Working and Long method

This solution is provided by Codyc03

1. 1. First off you need to have iTunes installed and the ipod touch plugged in
and recognized as ‘something’ e.g. digital camera (it shouldn’t really
matter what it’s recognized as, but it needs to be found by windows).

2. Search for usbaapl in the C:\WINDOWS system folder:
open windows explorer (e.g. Right-click Start and then click ‘explore’)
right-click the WINDOWS folder and select ‘Search’).
Type in usbaapl and hit Search – try to ignore the dog!
You should find the driver info in a sub folder of C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE

e.g. C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_A65621D65F5B7507DD7B22331826547BDD2D206B

Remember that location (either leave the search box open or copy the folder
name into note pad – you’ll need it later)
If you don’t find usbaapl.sys, usbaapl.inf etc. then your drivers have not
been installed with the iTunes install and you’ll have to reinstall iTunes.

3. Locate the ipod-camera device:
o Open the device manager, e.g. using Start > Control Panel >
Performance and Maintenance > System > Hardware Tab > Device Manager
o Look for a device called ‘ipod’ – if your ipod shows up as
‘digital camera’ it will be under something like ‘imaging devices’.

4. Update the driver:
o Right click the ‘ipod-camera’ in device manager and click on
‘Update Driver’ – the Hardware Update Wizard will open.
o Check the ‘Install from a list or specific location’ then click ‘Next’
o Check ‘Dont search. I will choose the driver to install’ click ‘Next’
Here you should see the Apple Device to update, click “Have Disk”
In the text box below type (or better copy and paste) or browse the folder
containing the ipod driver information found in step 1 (in the example
above it was

C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_A65621D65F5B7507DD7B22331826547BDD2D206B),
Click “OK”

The second process seems to be lengthy but in my case it resolved the problem. Let me know it works for you or not.
