Another projector phone has hit India. Technology is undoubtedly progressing here in India. Sometime in March, Spice Popkorn was launched which turned out to be the first projector phone in India but it was priced at Rs. 6,700 so when compared, Micromax X40, would turn out to be a better pick because it has some awesome features and it is the cheapest phone with a projector. Another great thing is that the projector lens is adjustable which helps you to change projection sizes on the viewing screen. This phone is definitely going to be a hit. Want to know more about it? Keep reading.
Micromax X40 supports dual-sim feature.
Multiple-format document reader that opens up Word, Excel, PDF and PowerPoint files for you.
It has a TFT display screen.
The size of the display screen is 2.4 inches with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.
Internal memory is 80 MB which can be expanded up to 4 GB using a microSD card.
It will have a 2 megapixels rear camera with not much special features. No secondary camera, of course.
It will just be another light weight phone with a weight of 148 grams.
Bluetooth, WAP and USB data would be available in the “Connectivity” section.
Micromax X40 is powered by a standard battery for up to 2.5 hours of battery life.
Social networking applications would be available in the phone.
Hmm… so this phone is great when its specifications and price is compared. It has totally outdone its only competitor Spice Popkorn just by making sure that people can afford it easily. The adjustable projector sounds good and would definitely feel good.
The price of Micromax X40 is around Rs. 5,000.
If you are looking for a projector phone and are stuck between Spice Popkorn and Micromax X40, go for X40 without any other thoughts. It’s much affordable than Popkorn and the features are great as well. The looks might not be much attractive, but this is a phone which is high-at-features and low-at-cost.

So, this phone looks quite promising and I am looking forward to its release. The list of countries where this phone would be released in the beginning times of its launch aren’t revealed right now but soon, all will be revealed and answered.
Another gold-plated phone from Nokia. The first one was Nokia Oro, which was announced in May and will release in September. Nokia C3-01 Gold Edition was announced earlier in August and has been launched yesterday. This is a Gold Edition of the much successful Nokia C3-01 touch and type so it will definitely have a lot of similarity in specifications with the original C3-01 but the gold-plated body makes it a lot more better than the latter.
Also, many features have been improved and some new features have been added with this release. The specifications are nice so the phone won’t give you the feeling that it is only good because of the gold-plated body. You may read the specifications below.
It is a touch and type phone and it comes with a TFT resistive touchscreen.
The size of the display screen is 2.4 inches and the resolution is 240 x 320 pixels.
The internal memory is 140 MB and can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

It has a 18-carat gold plating which makes it very special.
It has a 1050 mAh standard battery. Talk time – Up to 5 hours 30 min (2G) / Up to 4 hours (3G) Standby – Up to 405 hours (2G) / Up to 440 hours (3G) Music play – Up to 20 hours
It weighs just 100 grams and it is good to see that even with the gold-plating Nokia has managed to keep it low-weight.
You can see from the specs and features above that Nokia C3-01 is a feature rich phone. It would cost around €220 but cost in INR has not been revealed yet. It would be revealed very soon, hopefully.

PMP stands for Portable Media Player. These kind of devices are capable of storing and playing digital media such as audio, images, video, documents, etc. The PMPs are especially made for those people who are very much on-the-go and cannot survive without the daily dose of technology and entertainment. PMPs can entertain you a lot and won’t make you feel lonely. Even though, mobile phones are quietly replacing the PMPs but still many people like having PMPs as their must have Gadgets. The PMPs help you to enjoy and have fun with the digital media you want to see and listen. That’s why I decided to find three PMPs which you would search for if you are looking for a PMP in India:
1. Apple iPod Touch 4
It’s Apple only, which took PMP to new heights. The coolness of the iPod touchscreen is one of the major reason to call it as best PMP available in the market. iPod is not only available in the Touch form but it is also available in other different forms(iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle and iPod Classic). This PMP is truly a gem. The best of them all.
iPod Touch 4 comes in three models – 8 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. These three models would cover all the needs of a person.
It is lightweight and it weighs only 101 grams.
It has a display of 3.5 inches with multi-touch function. The resolution is 960 x 640 pixels.
iPod Touch comes with 2 cameras. Rear camera of 0.7 megapixels and front camera of VGA quality(for Facetime). It also allows us to record videos in High Definition (720p).
Up to 40 hours battery for music playback and up to 7 hours for video playback.
256 MB of RAM & 800 Mhz Processor is available.
Facetime, Retina display, HD video recording and Game center.
Apple iPod Touch 4 is a great PMP with superb features and it should be the first choice if you are out in search of a PMP.
iPod touch prices in India:
iPod Touch 4 (8GB) – Rs. 15,400
iPod Touch 4 (32GB) – Rs. 19,900
iPod Touch 4 (64GB) – Rs. 25,900
2. Sony Walkman NWZ-A845/B
Sony Walkman is one of the most famous brands that offer PMPs. Sony Walkman series is very preferable in India because of the famous-ness of Sony, here in India. Sony Walkman NWZ-A845/B is one of the best in the whole Sony Walkman series and hence I am including it in the list. Read about its specifications and the features below and you may get impressed as well.
Sony Walkman NWZ has a storage of 16 GB.
It weighs just 62 grams which is just too light to carry.
It has a 2.8 inched OLED color display screen with a resolution of 400 x 240 pixels.
No camera is available in this PMP.
Up to 9 hours battery for music playback and up to 8 hours for video playback.
This PMP is just a simple one. Two things where it excels would be the weight and the cool design. The design is enough to attract and the specs are fine enough to take this PMP into consideration.
The price of Sony Walkman NWZ-A845/B is Rs. 11,990
3. Cowon V5 HD
Cowon isn’t a much famous PMP brand in India but it surely is outside India. Cowon produces exciting and great gadgets. It has also launched a few PMPs, Cowon V5 HD being one of them. This PMP would impress you with its sleekness and great battery life. This PMP is cool and is filled with awesomeness. The specifications and features are given below.
Cowon V5 HD comes in two models – 16 GB and 32 GB.
It weighs 197 grams which maybe a little over-weight for a PMP.
It has a 4.8 inches display screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
No camera is available in this PMP.
Up to 45 hours for music playback and up to 10 hours for video playback.
This PMP is sleek and great in design. A PMP that should be totally considered when looking for a PMP. The only negative point would be the absence of Wi-Fi which should be added soon. The pricing is given below.
Cowon V5 HD (16 GB) – Rs. 14,000
Cowon V5 HD (32 GB) – Rs. 17,000
My choice would be Apple iPod Touch 4. Go for it if you have big pockets and want some awesomeness. Do let us know if you have any other recommendation for PMP’s in India?
India is full of passionate photographers. That is one fact many cannot deny. It happens a lot of time, that you get a camera pricing around Rs. 20,000 because of your passion and later, you just move on to some other thing. This leads to waste of time and especially waste of money. That’s what actually made me think of the topic.
Now, if you have passion of photography, you can choose a low pricing camera so that, if by any chance, you lose your interest later, you won’t lose a lot of bucks. I re-searched quite well for this topic and found out that Rs. 8,000 would be fine for entry-level camera. Then, I started finding the cameras. Out of 10 cameras, I shortlisted 3 to present to you Top 3 Cameras Available in India Under Rs. 8000. Read on!
1. Canon Powershot A800
Canon is one of the best camera-related companies in India and many new photographers may prefer this brand before any other. So, I searched for entry-level cameras from this brand and got a few of them out of which I chose this. The design is nice and looks attractive and would be a major part in attracting people at first place.
It is a 186 gram camera which is not too heavy nor too light. It is 10 megapixels camera which you are most likely to find in such budget. It comes with an optical zoom of 3.3x and digital zoom of 4x. It has a display screen of 2.5 inch. Video recording is available at a resolution of 640 x 480 @ 30 frames per second. Image stabilizer isn’t available but the video-out wire is. No built-in memory is available but you will get 4GB of memory bundled in the box. It comes with a warranty of 2 years.
Canon Powershot A800 is full of power specs and features. I liked the fact that Canon is giving away 4GB of memory bundled in the box. The features are good enough to attract many people. The 2.5 inch maybe a factor where it falls short to other competitors but just by .2 inches so that doesn’t matter much. It is affordable and is very easy to use.
The price of Canon Powershot A800 is Rs. 4,995.
2. Nikon CoolPix L23
Nikon is also one of the best camera brands in India and CoolPix is one of its most famous series. It offers many different varieties and models and Nikon CoolPix L23 was the most affordable and the best one(in my opinion). So, that’s why I selected this camera to be included in this series. You may like it and it is very much competing to the above one.
It is a 170 gram camera which is very portable and can be carried to different places easily. It is a 10.1 megapixels camera, just .1 megapixel more than the above one. Doesn’t make much difference. It comes with an optical zoom of 5x and digital zoom of 4x. It has a display screen of 2.9 inch. Video recording is available at a resolution of 640 x 480 @ 30 frames per second. Digital image stabilizer and video-out wire are available. 22 MB of built-in memory is available which can be expanded to 4 GB using a microSD card. It comes with a warranty of 2 years.
This camera impressed me by its low price and good specs and features. If comparing to above, the fight would go neck-to-neck but in my opinion Nikon CoolPix L23 is better than Canon Powershot A800, but wait before you make the decision. The third one is still waiting for you.
The price of Nikon CoolPix L23 is Rs. 4,990.
3. Olympus VG-140
This camera comes in the highest budget under Rs. 8000 – Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 8,000. This camera competed very well with a same price camera, FujiFilm FinePix JX300 but Olympus VG-140 defeated it when I compared the specifications and features and hence the last of the top 3 cameras under Rs. 8,000 is Olympus VG-120. Read on for the specifications.
It is a 125 gram camera which is the lightest of the all three. It is a 14 megapixels camera which you would like to get when paying the given price. It comes with an optical zoom of 5x and digital zoom of 4x and that is the only place(in my opinion) where it lacks the goods. It has a display screen of 3 inch. Video recording is available at a resolution of 1280 x 720 @ 30 frames per second. Digital image stabilizer and video-wire are available. 49 MB of built-in memory is available which can be expanded up to 4 GB using a microSD card. It comes with a warranty of 2 years.
This camera is great enough to attract you if you are willing to spend over Rs. 7000. The specifications are features are very good but if by any reason, you didn’t like this camera, you can choose its alternative which I mentioned above – FujiFilm FinePix JX300 which comes at the same cost but the specifications are just a little lower than this one.
The price of Olympus VG-140 is Rs. 7,499.
All of the above three camera are solely my choice which I chose after comparing the specifications and features. What do you think about these cameras? Which will you choose? Do comment.
So, we have another Galaxy in line. Samsung has announced a new mobile phone which will be called Samsung Galaxy XCover. Unlike other Samsung smartphones, Galaxy XCover is one phone which is very durable and reliable. It is designed especially for people who hardly care about their phone and accidentally drop their phone on land, water and in dust consistently. The team will be very proud after creating such a phone which so many people needed. Samsung will make difference with this phone and I totally believe it.
The phone does not only survive everyday falls, can stay underwater(up to 30 minutes) and is totally resistant to dust. Don’t think that this phone everything on the outside and nothing from the inside. Before you think so, lemme tell you the specs.
The phone comes with a capacitive 3.65 inches touch screen.
Internal memory of 150 MB will be given and it can be expanded up to 32 GB with microSD card. Plus, you will get 2 GB free in the box.
GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB v2.0 are available in the connectivity section.
It comes with a 3.2 megapixels camera with geo-tagging and LED flash. Video recording is also available but details aren’t out yet.
Galaxy XCover would run on Android 2.3(Gingerbread) and no details about upgrading limits.
It weighs 135 grams.
It will be powered by a 800 Mhz processor.
It will come with a 1500 mAh battery but the battery backup details aren’t released yet.
This phone will be totally different than the other smartphones who are lighter, slimmer and all that. This phone focuses on extreme conditions and make sure the user becomes fear less over his/her mobile phone. The smartphone will have a tempered glass display that is up to five times stronger than normal glass.
The price isn’t announced yet but according to my guess, the price would be somewhere around Rs. 27,000. The phone will hit the stores(not in India) in most probably October 2011(not sure yet). I will definitely be waiting for this extra-ordinary phone.

Sony CyberShot is back with two new models. One is WX30 and the other one, about which I am talking about, TX55 which is supposed to be the world’s thinnest HD camera and that’s why I decided to write about it before WX30. The best and the most talked feature about Sony Cybershot TX55 is of course the thinness of the camera and then all the other specifications get along.
It was first announced on 25th July 2011 and is expected to hit the market by September 2011. The specifications of the camera are good enough and of course the thing which has gained it a lot of momentum, as you know by know, is the thinness.
You can check the specifications below;
Sony CyberShot TX55 has a Carl-Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with a 3.3 inch OLED touchscreen.
It is a 16.2 megapixels camera with 5x optical zoom.
It can record videos in Full High Definition 1080p as well as 3rd Dimension.
The special features include – Intelligent Sweep Panaroma, 3D Sweep Panaroma and Sweep Multi Angle.
Can give up to 125 minutes(250 shots) with a single charge.
It gives you an internal memory of 19MB which is fine for a camera.
This thinnest HD camera weighs 94 grams.
A 10x Clear Image Zoom is also available which magnifies pictures without losing the high quality of the picture.
The memory card slot in the TX55 works with Memory Stick Micro (M2) and MicroSD/SDHC cards.
The expect release month is September and the expected initial price would be $350. It will be first released in Europe and United States and after that will slowly expand to the rest of the world.
Great camera and nicely priced. Hopefully, it will release in India very soon after it is released in Europe and United States. Let’s see what happens.
What do you think about this camera? Do you like it? What is your opinion about this camera? Do comment.
Android is the best operating system currently available when it comes to mobiles and tablets. Android has been very famous in these two categories and has managed to get quite a lot bucks. The tablets are the current fashion in the tech world and mixing Android with these tablets just makes the process a lot more better. There aren’t a lot Android tablets available in India but there are certainly enough. 3 of the best Android tablets would be mentioned in the post with the details of the specifications and a brief review so that you can know which one to buy. Read on.
1. Motorola Xoom
When Motorola Xoom was launched, it stayed in the news for a few days for being the first ever tablet to showcase the great Android 3.0 named Honeycomb which is specially made for tablets and would totally increase your using experience and make it more good. Plus, the specs give it a huge support and make it respectable to the price. Xoom arrived in India just a couple of weeks ago and was welcomed warmly by the Indian techies. Moving on to the specifications, Xoom has a TFT capacitive touchscreen with a display of 10.1 inches and a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels. Xoom has an internal memory of 16/32/64 GB and 1 GB RAM. In the 16GB model, you can expand the memory to 32GB using a microSD card which makes the storage not a problem. There are two models available for Xoom – 3G and Wi-Fi. 5MP rear camera with Auto-focus, Digital Zoom, and 720p HD video recording and a 2MP front facing camera is available in this tablet. Up to 10 hours of battery backup is offered by Motorola Xoom so you can do a lot in just a single charge. It has a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H Dual Core processor which would make your experience with this tablet faster than expected.
Motorola Xoom has two models available(as mentioned above) :-
1. Wi-Fi – Rs. 34, 490 2. 3G – Rs. 41, 490
2. HTC Flyer
This is another great new tablet which has launched in India. Flyer also launched just a couple of weeks ago and might be considered as a competition to Motorola Xoom but if that would be the case, Xoom would easily beat Flyer in almost all the specs. HTC Flyer runs on Android 2.3(Gingerbread). It has a LCD capacitive multi-touchscreen with a display of 7 inches and a resolution of 1024 x 600. The 7-inch display might put it in the back league because most of the people are looking for a tablet with the display minimum 9 inches. But HTC has covered the 7-inch backdrop with the famous HTC Sense. It has a 1.5GHz processor with 1GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. HTC Flyer weighs a mere 420 grams which is very light respective to the weights of other tablets. It has a 5MP rear camera with auto focus and 720p HD video. For front, it has a 1.5 megapixels front-facing camera which would definitely make your video calls much efficient and clear. Bluetooth3.0, USB2.0 and Wi-Fi are available in Flyer. A 1GB RAM is offered. It has a 4400 mAh battery which can give you a powerful battery backup which could be equal to above 4 hours of consistent video playback.
HTC Flyer has a price tag of Rs. 39,890.
3. Acer Iconia A500
You might not have guessed Acer in this article but this tablet has been great. The specs are amazing and the cost is totally affordable and can be considered a little low for this tablet. You will think the same when you see the specs. Iconia A500 is one of the few Android 3.0(Honeycomb) tablets in the Indian market so you can consider Iconia A500 as a special tablet. Another special thing about this low at cost, high at features would be the 10.1 inch screen it is offering. The resolution of Iconia A500 is 800 x 1280. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a single USB port is available. It has a 5MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. The video recording doesn’t consist of any special feature. A front-facing 2MP camera is also available. Iconia A500 has a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual Core processor, Tegra 2 chipset. It has a 3260 mAh battery which may disappoint you a little after such great specifications but it is fine and can be handled well by many of the users.
Acer Iconia A500 has a price tag of Rs. 27,990.
Those were the best Android based tablets available in the Indian market. You might try one of them. My recommendation would be Acer Iconia A500 because of the great features and the price, being the lowest of them all. It is definitely better than HTC Flyer but may fall a little bit short when compared to Motorola Xoom. So, choose between Xoom and Iconia but no matter what, you can choose Flyer as well. It’s totally your decision.
Which is your favorite tablet? Which one would you want to see in the top 3? Do comment.
Entry-Level laptops are those kind of laptops which are stylish, affordable and powerful. Laptops get more powerful year after year and the entry-level laptops are the ones to buy because of the great specs and affordable price. Entry-level laptops mainly consist of Intel Pentium Dual-Core CPU or Intel Core i3, 2GB of RAM, 320GB Hard Drive, DVD-Writer, webcam, bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The price range of these kinda laptops are Rs. 23,000 to Rs. 35,000. These kind of laptops are those laptops which a middle-class persona can buy and use with ease. This list would contain the top 3 laptops in the price range of Rs. 23,000 to Rs. 35,000 which will make the choosing process a lot easier.
Dell Inspiron 15R
Dell Inspiron 15R is a great laptop and you will feel the same when you see the specs and the price of this laptop. Dell Inspiron 15R has three laptops in the series. All of them are great in specifications and higher price is available with higher specifications. The first(which I am talking about right now) costs Rs. 31,300. The second costs Rs. 33,300 and the third costs Rs. 41,200. Dell Inspiron 15R(Rs. 31,000 model) has a 15.6 inches HD widescreen which would make the display more glossy with the addition of TrueLife. The price of Dell Inspiron 15R is Rs. 31,300.
Zenith Uranium A14HM02
Zenith Uranium is a laptop that gives great value for money and offers specifications which you cannot get in the laptops higher in price. The only low-point that would be in this laptop is the brand name. Zenith isn’t a famous brand and I am sure many of you would be surprised to see this laptop in these rankings. The metal body and the reasonable price tag just put it in quite a big lead. Moving on to the biggest plus point, the specifications. Zenith Uranium has a 14 inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768. It has a 2GB RAM and a 320GB Hard Disk Drive. It runs on Windows 7 Professional. Zenith Uranium has an Intel Core i5 processor. Performance and the specifications is where the Zenith Uranium actually shines. It has a 1.3 megapixel integrated web camera. This laptop is easy to hold and carry around as it weighs only 2kg. Just like the above laptop, Zenith Uranium has a 6-cell Li-Ion battery so just like the above laptop, you can do a lot with a single charge. Zenith Uranium, for Rs. 23,000 is a great buy and maybe the best entry-level laptop excluding the brand power. The price of Zenith Uranium A14HM02 is just Rs. 23,000.
This laptop is just like other Samsung laptops, amazing in design. Samsung produces laptops that are extra-ordinary in design and offer some good specifications. This laptop weighs 2.2 kg and can be called a lightweight laptop. Samsung Np-RV411-S01 offers a 14-inch screen and a resolution of 1366 x 768. It has a RAM of 2GB and a Hard Disk Drive of 500 GB. A storage of 500 GB is a little bit extra-ordinary in reference to the price of the laptop. This laptop runs on Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. Intel Pentium Dual Core ProcessorP6200 is available in this laptop. It has an NVIDIA GeForce315M external graphics processor which can run extreme games easily. This laptop has an Ethernet port, 3 USBv2.0 ports and Wi-Fi. It has a 6-cell standard battery and after a little search, I found that this laptop gives up to 5 hours of battery life. The price is quite reasonable to the features and the brand quality which could make you buy this one.
The price of Samsung NP-RV411-S01 is Rs. 30,490.
Those were the top 3 ‘entry-level’ laptops available in the Indian market. If I am asked to pick any one of them, my choice would be Samsung NP-RV 411-S01 because of a nice price, great and stylish design and the awesome specifications offered.
What do you think of these 3 laptops? Which is your favorite? Do comment.
