Acer Announces Their First Windows Phone 7.5 Phone: Acer Allegro

Things are looking quite good for Windows Phone. Just recently, Nokia launched their first two Windows Phones and now its Acer which has announced a Windows Phone 7.5(Mango) phone which would be known as Acer Allegro. This is going to be yet another phone aiming at mid-range market.

The code name of this phone is Acer W4. As the reports say, it was very quietly announced and one of the first sites to cover the announcement was a French site known as Mon Windows Phone. Acer may not have much greater influence on the smartphone market but such phones will only lead it to superiority.

Acer Allegro comes with a 3.6 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen. It has 8 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. It has a 5 megapixels camera with autofocus and LED flash. Video recording is available. It has a 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor. GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB are available. It has a 1300 mAh battery which offers up to 6 hours of talk time. It weighs around 126 grams.

Acer Allegro will first come to France in mid-November in Black and White stylish colors and would be available for €229. By adding more and more companies to their network, surely Windows Phone is advancing and getting more famous but we will have to wait and see that how much are the people excited for these Windows Phones.

I am quite excited for all these phones and truly want to get my hands on one of these, but that ain’t possible. Nevertheless, I feel these phones(especially Nokia ones) are going to make a lot of money in the market. Now, talking about Allegro, it is a wonderful phone. Design is good and specifications are truly good. In the Indian market, it may cost around 20,600(converting Euro amount to INR) which a lot of people look for. Acer isn’t much experienced brand in smartphones but yet, I feel this phone could do wonders for its company.
