Xbox 360 Will Beat Nintendo Wii in Sale

According to NPD group hardware sale statistics Microsoft Xbox 360 will beat Nintendo Wii at the end of this March i.e Xbox 360 has managed to achieve the target of best selling console and it has left Nintendo Wii behind. It may be said finally that Microsoft was almost sure for the final moment’s success from the starting month of this competition (march 2010). Though Nintendo Wii had been outselling both PS3 and Xbox in past.

Past Sell Figures for All three Consoles

  • Nintendo Wii- 84.64 million as of 31 December 2010
  • Xbox 360 – 50 million as of 6 January 2011
  • PlayStation 3 – 47.9 million as of 31 December 2010

As you can see the sale stats as of December 2010 Nintendo Wii was at first position and Xbox was at second number. If we talk about US stats till December 2010, here also Nintendo Wii was found number one. But in February 2011 there was an extreme explosion in Xbox 360 sell and almost 535,000 console units were sold in February while Nintendo Wii got 454,000 sales.


So what may be the reason of this great shift ?


Doug Creutz an expert analyst of console market said that Xbox has emerged as a better choice to play video games at high details and home console users have experienced its efficiency of playing HD games at full detail.
