Windows 8 Developer Preview Downloaded 500,000 Times in 24 Hours

Microsoft has been lying low from a long time, even after the release of Windows Phone 7,and there hasn’t been much success other than the regular sale of OS. But, it has been gaining some traction after trhe release of WP 7.5 Mango and the revealing of Windows 8 at the D9 conference. It all took a major leap towards the sun right after they showcased the complete UI and new features of their new OS. The unified operating system for all tablets, PCs and notebooks, Windows 8 developer preview was finally launched yesterday at their Build conference.

Windows 8 Developer preview, which means the beta version, was available for download from Microsofts website too. People were really excited after seeing the live keynote and thus wanted to try it out. And so they did. About 500,000 thousand of them.

Yup, Microsoft revealed it earlier today, that more than 500,000 PC users had downloaded the developer preview in less than 24 hours of it’s launch. The number is shocking, that too for a developer preview, it’s not even the final version. Pretty awesome don’t you think? Yes, it is.

Are you going to try the developer preview? Or you already have? Well, I have and it’s amazing on a non-touch notebook as well.
