View your RSS feeds as a ticker scrolling across your desktop

snackr-logoRSS Feeds are my latest addiction. They let me focus only on what I like to read : the content and not the design, not the layout but just the content. Now, keeping in sync with your RSS reader is a bit inconvenient if not difficult. Sure, Google Reader is great and FeedDemon does a great job of an offline reader but then with all the readers, I need to open them up. In fact, lets just say I need to coax myself to READ the feeds.

If only there were a software which made me read the feeds (or just headlines) conveniently and not being obstructive at the same time  it would be great. Enter – Snackr. Its very appropriately named as it gives you little snacks of the feeds and shows you the headlines as a ticker running across your desktop. Its tagline goes a step further to declare – Nibble on your feeds. I found out about Snackr from Wakoopa.

The best part – its based on Adobe Air. Another reason to smile as its compatible with both windows and MAC. Its sheer simplicity and beauty will impress you and it does a rather excellent job at reminding you of your feeds as they run quietly across the stretch of your desktop. Did i tell you its free?

Check out the screenshot of my desktop – I’ve placed it at the bottom. Although you cant see it running but you’ll get the idea. Its superb. Give it a try and you’ll be delighted.

In my opinion, you better not substitute it for your regular RSS client instead just use Snackr to keep in sync with latest headlines of your feeds as you go about your daily activities on your PC.
