Tablet PCs have been doing well over the years but from the last few years it has raised and a lot of new tablets have been launched by the big companies like Apple, Samsung, HP, etc. 2011 is predicted to be the year of tablets as so many tablets have been released in the first quarter(of 2011) itself. Tablets are getting famous day by day. This post will tell you the top 5 tablets launched in 2011 which will give you an idea that which tablet should you buy. So, lets begin.

1. Apple iPad 2

Micro USB, Micro HDMI, Multi-tasking, 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM makes it as competitive as ever. This tablet weighs around 400 grams.

The price of Blackberry Playbook is not official yet(in India) but rumors say it will start from Rs. 25,000. Some online stores are selling it, starting from Rs. 33,000.

3. HTC Flyer

HTC products are always famous for one thing, HTC Sense and when the HTC Sense gets added to a tablet, it would definitely be a deadly combination. Not only HTC Sense, but all the other specifications have helped it to be in this top 5. It is an another 7 inch tablet. It has a 1.5 Ghz processor. It runs on Android which gives it an edge over the tablets told above because of Android being the best mobile OS. It has a 5 megapixels rear camera and a 1.3 megapixels front camera. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS are available. It has a RAM of 1 GB and internal storage of 32 GB.

HTC Flyer will launch in this quarter of 2011. The price is expected to be Rs. 35,000. Its price in USD is around $715.

4. Motorola Xoom

Motorola Xoom is a tablet which can not be left behind. It is the first Android 3.0(Honeycomb) tablet with great looks and many more amazing features. It is a 10.1 inch tablet. It has a 1Ghz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. It has a 5 megapixels rear camera and a 2 megapixels front camera. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are available. It also has 3G which is upgradeable to 4G. The internal memory is 32 GB. The weight is 708 grams. So, all in all this is a great tablet which is hugely competitive to the other top tablets.

The price of Motorola Xoom begins from Rs. 35,000.

5. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been in news for its thickness, 8.49 mm which is lesser than Apple’s iPad 2. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab has always been famous. The new version would just add to it. It runs on the specially made for tablets OS, Android 3.0(Honeycomb). It has a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. The processor of this tablet is 1 Ghz Nvidia Tegra 2. The maximum internal memory of this tablet is 32GB. It has a 8 megapixels rear camera and a 2 megapixels front camera. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 are available. It weighs around 589 grams.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has not launched in India yet, but its price in USD begins from $499. It will launch in India in this quarter of 2011.

  1. Nice comparison on tablets. I think, the prices of tablets are still on higher side. Hopefully, they should come down quite substantially by end of this year.

  2. I would rate Samsung the best as I have used it.. Low cost high productivity
