Top 3 Cameras Available in India Under Rs. 8000(Entry-Level)

Top 3 Cameras Available in India Under Rs. 8000(Entry-Level)

India is full of passionate photographers. That is one fact many cannot deny. It happens a lot of time, that you get a camera pricing around Rs. 20,000 because of your passion and later, you just move on to some other thing. This leads to waste of time and especially waste of money. That’s what actually made me think of the topic.

Now, if you have passion of photography, you can choose a low pricing camera so that, if by any chance, you lose your interest later, you won’t lose a lot of bucks. I re-searched quite well for this topic and found out that Rs. 8,000 would be fine for entry-level camera. Then, I started finding the cameras. Out of 10 cameras, I shortlisted 3 to present to you Top 3 Cameras Available in India Under Rs. 8000. Read on!

1. Canon Powershot A800

Canon is one of the best camera-related companies in India and many new photographers may prefer this brand before any other. So, I searched for entry-level cameras from this brand and got a few of them out of which I chose this. The design is nice and looks attractive and would be a major part in attracting people at first place.

It is a 186 gram camera which is not too heavy nor too light. It is 10 megapixels camera which you are most likely to find in such budget. It comes with an optical zoom of 3.3x and digital zoom of 4x. It has a display screen of 2.5 inch. Video recording is available at a resolution of 640 x 480 @ 30 frames per second. Image stabilizer isn’t available but the video-out wire is. No built-in memory is available but you will get 4GB of memory bundled in the box. It comes with a warranty of 2 years.

Canon Powershot A800 is full of power specs and features. I liked the fact that Canon is giving away 4GB of memory bundled in the box. The features are good enough to attract many people. The 2.5 inch maybe a factor where it falls short to other competitors but just by .2 inches so that doesn’t matter much. It is affordable and is very easy to use.

The price of Canon Powershot A800 is Rs. 4,995.

2. Nikon CoolPix L23

Nikon is also one of the best camera brands in India and CoolPix is one of its most famous series. It offers many different varieties and models and Nikon CoolPix L23 was the most affordable and the best one(in my opinion). So, that’s why I selected this camera to be included in this series. You may like it and it is very much competing to the above one.

It is a 170 gram camera which is very portable and can be carried to different places easily. It is a 10.1 megapixels camera, just .1 megapixel more than the above one. Doesn’t make much difference. It comes with an optical zoom of 5x and digital zoom of 4x. It has a display screen of 2.9 inch. Video recording is available at a resolution of 640 x 480 @ 30 frames per second. Digital image stabilizer and video-out wire are available. 22 MB of built-in memory is available which can be expanded to 4 GB using a microSD card. It comes with a warranty of 2 years.

This camera impressed me by its low price and good specs and features. If comparing to above, the fight would go neck-to-neck but in my opinion Nikon CoolPix L23 is better than Canon Powershot A800, but wait before you make the decision. The third one is still waiting for you.

The price of Nikon CoolPix L23 is Rs. 4,990.

3. Olympus VG-140

This camera comes in the highest budget under Rs. 8000 – Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 8,000. This camera competed very well with a same price camera, FujiFilm FinePix JX300 but Olympus VG-140 defeated it when I compared the specifications and features and hence the last of the top 3 cameras under Rs. 8,000 is Olympus VG-120. Read on for the specifications.

It is a 125 gram camera which is the lightest of the all three. It is a 14 megapixels camera which you would like to get when paying the given price. It comes with an optical zoom of 5x and digital zoom of 4x and that is the only place(in my opinion) where it lacks the goods. It has a display screen of 3 inch. Video recording is available at a resolution of  1280 x 720 @ 30 frames per second. Digital image stabilizer and video-wire are available. 49 MB of built-in memory is available which can be expanded up to 4 GB using a microSD card. It comes with a warranty of 2 years.

This camera is great enough to attract you if you are willing to spend over Rs. 7000. The specifications are features are very good but if by any reason, you didn’t like this camera, you can choose its alternative which I mentioned above – FujiFilm FinePix JX300 which comes at the same cost but the specifications are just a little lower than this one.

The price of Olympus VG-140 is Rs. 7,499.

All of the above three camera are solely my choice which I chose after comparing the specifications and features. What do you think about these cameras? Which will you choose? Do comment.
