Spice Transformer M5500: The Transformers Phone

Spice Transformer M5500: The Transformers Phone

It’s Seldom that you get to hear about mobile phones that are named after a hugely popular game or movie. It’s not necessary that if done so, the product too is going to be as popular as the movie. Spice however, doesn’t believe so, and have gone ahead and launched a new mobile phone named after a cartoon series adopted movie. Spice Transformers M5500 is a dual SIM phone that was launched recently and is named after the immensely popular movie Transformers.

The latest Transformers movie was released recently and has been a smash hit so far, now Spice wants to try and achieve that with their Transformers phone. Unfortunately, all you Transformers fans, the Spice Transformer doesn’t actually transform into an awesome robot, but it can do something else. The phone can transform from a touchscreen to a phone with a keypad, which is in fact the first of it’s kind, in India at least.

I do not know how the transformation takes place, but somehow it’s possible to detach or hide the keypad when you want to sport a touch only phone. However, the display is only 2.3 inches and not healthy for good finger touching interaction, unless you add that keypad. Still, you could tell people about how you were given the phone by a friendly Autobot you met at a party.

Other features include an MP3 player, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, FM Radio and the familiar Autobot symbol at the back. Lots of wallpapers, themes and video clips from the movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon clad in Red or White skin.

The Spice Transformer M5500 will not help you save the world, but it will save you a lot of money as it’s only priced at INR 4,599. Now all we have to do is wait and watch if it will sell when it hits the selves this month. Until then, Autobots Retreat!!
