Software Piracy, How different it is?

A lot has been said & discussed about how adversely piracy effects economic growth or how every year billions of dollars are wasted due to piracy and how bad it is for the software industry hampering product development…………. It goes on and on.

Amidst all this, i wonder about how different is software piracy from other ways of pirating stuff?
I mean, unlike counterfeit products ranging from cloths, hardware to even toys where the quality goes down the drain, where duplicate stuff is extremely inferior compared to their original commodities, how is the quality affected in pirated software!

None, a pirated software is the same as any original software, the only difference being the developer who deserves all the credit for it doesn’t get any! The point I’m trying to make is the fact that unlike other major sources from where piracy originates , pirated softwares are free from defects. In true sense of the term, they are nothing but exact replicas of their original content.

Piracy therefore, amounts to stealing! Not a word more and not a word less.
