Recently, we told you about the release of Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 by the iPhone dev team and we also provided tutorials on jailbreaking using PwanageTool and RedsnOw. The dev-team are doing their job very well and have again updated RedsnOw and SnOwbreeze packages with custom boot logos and a few new features. The latest version of RedsnOw that you can download is version 0.9.6 RC11 and SnOwbreeze version 2.5.1.
The new versions bring a lot of minor changes to the jailbreak and also add the customizable boot logo for you iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. These new updates still don’t support jailbreaking iOS 4.3.1 on the iPad 2, but are good enough for other devices running the latest FW. The SnOwbreeze update also adds certain enhancements to your iDevice such as:
- Cydia 1.1.1 comes pre-installed
- iPhone 3GS users can now flash the iPad 06.15.00 baseband
- Animate (Animated Boot Logos) by the Chronic Dev-Team is now supported
- Added afc2 * Apple TV 2 is now fully supported
- Added Apple TV 2 DFU Instructions
- YouTube issues resolved on hacktivated devices
- iPhone 3GS old-bootrom issues fixed (Error 37)
As for the new RedsnOw update, certain unnecessary options have been removed to make the jailbreak process much easier and faster. You can use both these packages to directly jailbreak on top of the already installed version without having to un-install or remove packages. All you have to do is uncheck Cydia while installation and everything will be fine. You can select ‘Allow Boot Animation’ option to download and change your boot logo using Cydia.
You can download the latest version of SnOwbreeze 2.5.1 from here and RedsnOw 0.9.6 RC11 from here. Unlockers need to stay away from RedsnOw and Sn0wBreeze releases to prevent risks. UltraSnOw update will soon be available in Cydia for unlockers to not lose your stock Baseband and unlock.
