Being an avid Jailbreak user, I love to customize my iPhone using all those crazy Cydia applications available in the Cydia Store. We are all aware of how much the original iOS notification system sucks, even though it’s straight to the point and simple. To completely change how the iOS notifications work, Peter Hajas, an iPhone developer gave us the MobileNotifier. Peter Hajas, it has been confirmed, is now working for Apple as an intern under iOS Apps and Framework.

Peter-Hajas and Apple

MobileNotifier truly changes the way the iOS notifications work and gives it a whole new perspective. It’s not perfect yet, but it’s way better and beautiful than how iOS notifications are. You can learn more on how to install MobileNotifier and how it works over here. Peter Hajas demoed MobileNotifier quite a long time back, and has been working on it until recently. He posted on his blog that he will be taking a break from the development on MobileNotifier and his other projects. He mentioned;

I can’t say why, but it’s worth it. Trust me. If you look around hard enough, you’ll probably figure it out. I hope you guys understand, and I look forward to bringing you more awesome, great, free open source software in the future. Stay tuned for some amazing things! If you absolutely must get in touch with me, send me an email.  Until then, stay hungry and stay foolish.

There have been many rumors since this incident stating that iOS 5 will be getting a completely revamped notification system and that Peter Hajas will be the man behind that. All these were only rumors, until now!

So how did this rumor turn into a fact? Well, all thanks to the geniuses at Redmond Pie who happen to collect some evidence regarding Peter Hajas absence from the Jailbreaking scene. According to tweet by Peter Hajas he had stated that he’s heading out to California to work for a ‘fruit’ company. We all know what the ‘fruit’ means over here.

Peter Hajas tweet

Also recently, all doubts were cleared when Redmond Pie got a screenshot that shows that Peter Hajas has indeed been working for Apple as a “iOS Apps & Frameworks” employee. But, seems like the job is not a permanent one, and he’s only working there as an intern and probably doing the iOS notifications right!!

Peter Hajas at Apple

This is not the first time that Apple is hiring a developer from the Jailbreaking community and this certainly won’t be the last. We congratulate Peter Hajas on being a part of Apple Inc. and hope that he’ll play a major role in future iOS updates and developments. Apple’s WWDC event is taking place in another two days, so we’ll know for sure what’s going to be new in iOS 5.

The mobile gaming industry is booming, there are thousands of games online that you can now download and enjoy on your mobile device. Games actually started getting real famous on mobile after the launch of the Apple App Store. There have been lots of games since then, but only a few have left a mark on the mobile gaming world.

Angry Birds for PC

I don’t even have to mention that most of you must have played Angry Birds on your mobile device. There you go, I mentioned it again! Well, you know what I’m talking about, the game where you sling Angry Birds at pigs and monkeys and rescue other birds all using a slingshot. The game is currently available on all major mobile platforms and is currently making it’s way into Desktops and Laptops and even for Web browsers. If you remember, Angry Birds was first released on the iOS platform and then it moved to Android and so on. There was also a certain Intel App Up program through which you could download and play Angry Birds on your Windows laptop.

Angry Birds PC Download

Now though, Rovio has gone ahead and introduced Angry Birds for all Windows computers. The game can be downloaded from the official website here, but only the demo versions can be downloaded as you’ll have to pay $5 for the full version of the game if you want to enjoy it on your desktop computer. A big screen, birds flying here and there, pigs and monkeys bursting into vapor and all that can be yours just for $5, that is if you want to go through the game all over again, the same game that you played on your mobile phone.

Although, if you’re one of those game illiterates, then it’s time for you to get some knowledge on what’s going on in the mobile/desktop gaming world. If you’re not of this type and want to only kill and shoot enemies then you can either wait for Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3. I must however tell you, that you’re missing out on a lot of fun if you’re not willing to download and play Angry Birds!!

You can now grab your copy of Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio or download the demo version for your Windows PC from here. The minimum system requirements are Windows XP SP2, 512MB of RAM, 1 GHz Processor, Graphic OpenGL 1.3 compatible and Internet Connection for activation. Enjoy playing Angry Birds on your Windows PC.

Are you willing to spend $5 and download Angry Birds for PC?

Playing with a Frisbee is something that all of us have done at some point of time in our life. It’s a fun game, and very much fascinated me when I was a really small kid. Now that I’ve grown, it’s difficult to find time to play with a Frisbee or well anything else of that sort. This is where Frisbee Forever, an iPhone Game comes to the rescue.

Frisbee Forever for iPhone, is a really fun and challenging game for all those Frisbee lovers out there and according to me it’s actually more fun than a game of real Frisbee. The game is real simple to play and doesn’t require any real skills for you to master it. Frisbee Forever uses the accelerometers to control the movement of the frisbee when in the air. The game has many levels and different scenarios such as a park, a mountain, waterfall and few more. The game requires you to throw the Frisbee and then navigate it throw loops and around obstacles to reach the finish line, and trust me that isn’t as easy as it sounds.

Get ready for blast-off. Fly at breathtaking speed across more than 100 crazy tracks. Twist and turn in the California Theme Park, climb the majestic mountains in the Wild West or send the waves blazing in the Pirate filled Caribbean oceans. There’s a level for everyone! Play with cool classic Wham-O® Frisbees® or brand new discs only available in Frisbee® Forever. Collect more than 100 Frisbees®, with plenty of trophies and secret bonuses to achieve.

The game starts off with a very easy level, but as you keep moving up, the levels get harder and trickier. It’s not really easy to control the Frisbee, as you have to maintain the speed and angle as well, if you don’t, the Frisbee crashes and Game Over!! It’s all in how you tilt your iOS device, tilt too much and you’re off course, tilt too less and you go hit the loop instead of passing through it. Throughout the games you’ll need to collect Stars so that you can move on to the next levels and also buy yourself a brand new Frisbee.

That’s pretty much how the game is, seen in the above screenshots, fun and tricky as you make your way to the top and become a Frisbee Forever master. It’s available for free in the App Store, but is a little heavy weighing in at about 60MB. Free up some space on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad and awaken the little kid inside you.

Do you like to play with Frisbees? Tell us if you enjoyed playing Frisbee Forever.

Today we are discussing five advantages and disadvantages of jailbreaking Sony’s Playstation 3. The term jailbreaking is a household term these days thanks to the iPhone’s popularity and the number of people in jailbreak community actively working on it. However, jailbreaking a PS3 may be whole lot different than jailbreaking an iOS device. We’ve tried to shed some light on this after the break.

The Seagate GoFlex Satellite Wireless storage device was launched recently to help iOS devices expand their storage capacities. It wasn’t quite handy though, being bulky and not really portable in size. Kingston recently announced their battery powered wireless storage device called the Wi-drive that streams media to connected Apple devices.

The Kingston Wi-Drive may be ideal for those who are looking for expanding their iPhone or iPad storage, but it doesn’t give you much in hand. The device is slim, will fit well in your pocket and will stream even 720p HD video to your iOS device, no problem at all. If you happen to be going on a road trip somewhere and want to waste your time watching TRON on your iPad, but already loaded it with millions of apps, then this is what you’ll need. Although, this doesn’t give you as much as storage as the Seagate GoFlex Satellite, and leaves you with a 16GB and 32GB choice.

Wi-Drive, along with its app from the App Store SM, allows users to stream videos, access music or share files with other Apple device owners. The distinctively designed, pocket-sized Wi-Drive utilizes Flash-based technology to store data from USB-compatible PCs. These files are then easily retrieved via Wi-Drive’s built-in wireless signal without requiring cables or an Internet connection. Three users can work simultaneously with different file types from a single Wi-Drive without any performance disruption.

Kingston Wi-Drive is as slim as the iPhone 4 and of the same dimensions too and runs on battery that lasts for at least four hours when streaming full HD content simultaneously to three devices. That’s quite then don’t you think? You’ll probably be able to watch the complete Final Destination or American Pie series without having to get out of your chair. Yes, you can share data with up to three users at the same time. That, my friends, will come in handy when you and two of your friends or family happen to own Apple devices and have nothing else to do. The Wi-Drive comes with a USB cable so that you can transfer all the required data to it, plus it lets you transfer files to and from your iOS device. So if you’re Wi-Drive suddenly decides that it’s full, then you can transfer it to one of those three connected devices and hope they aren’t over capacity too. Watch the video after the break for a little demonstration.

The only thing though, the pricing will definitely stop you from buying this device unless you really want to. It’s not cheap my friends, the 16GB will drill your pockets all the way till $130 and the 32GB – $175. No information on when the Kingston Wi-drive will be available, but seems like not many will be going for this storage expansion alternative, unless you’re a diet freak and like things to be slim.

What do you have to say? Would you be willing to shell $175 for just 32GB of extra storage?

If you happen to be a social networking fan then you must be in knowledge of 12seconds.tv that allow users to post small-time videos of 12-seconds about whatever they are doing or is happening in their life. But for some unknown reasons the site got closed in October. So if you happen to be an iPhone user and an avid blogger then there is good news for you because a mobile version of 12seconds.tv type video blogging has started and is named as Viddy.

Viddy iPhone ap

Basically Viddy for iPhone is a “live-streaming studio” that will allow you to compose 15-second videos along with the things like special effects and background music. You can also share and upload these videos on different social networking platforms just like you share photos on platforms like Flickr and Instagram. The thing that makes Viddy bloom is the iPhone’s video cameras. The iPhone’s front facing camera makes Viddy a perfect app for personal video blogging and will let you vent out your expressions in the form of video posts.

Viddy for iPhone Features

The app’s main features include the ability to capture a video directly from within the app or you can also import a video from your phone’s camera roll. If you choose to record the video directly from within apps interface then iPhone’s self timer will automatically pop-up helping you to clock the time for video. Moreover, if you scan a video from your camera roll, you can trim it within app interface but you won’t find a timer in this case.

Viddy Effects

Next up is the filters option, you can apply filters to your video from a built-in archive, and common filters are junked-3D and vintage. Regarding previewing, Viddy provides you with the option of previewing your edited video before sharing it on any of social networking platform.

You can also put in background music for your video, though you can’t import music from your iTunes library but there is a provision to add music and transitions directly from Apple iMovie.

Viddy-share-Option

Last step is to add labels to your video and select the social networking sites where you want to post your video. Apart from these features, you can also create your “fan following” by using Viddy’s “Find Friends” feature. You can develop your followers list either from your phonebook or by searching Viddy’s current active users.

I think Viddy is a nice looking app with a new concept, obviously developers need to release it for other platforms like Android and Blackberry. Though there are some drawback like a playlist option should have been there but I guess coming updates will be sorting out the current issues.

Do use it and Let us know that whether you like this innovative idea or not.

airtel-movies-on-demand-service

The best part about this service is streaming movies wont be counted under your bandwidth quota.  Though there is an exceptional for Punjab Airtel broadband users.

How to Subscribe to Airtel movies on demand service?

In order to subscribe to Airtel movies on demand service, you can directly register on official site, you can also call 1800 200 3101 OR SMS “movie” to 53636

This collection of 500 movies includes regional and bollywood movies. Though I expect them to add Hollywood movies too in this service. Airtel should also consider adding more packages into this service. An yearly package would be nice. For now, I believe this INR 229/month is little high, considering only 500 movies.   More over this is one of it’s type service in India and people will be benefited with this service.

Do let us know if you are planning to subscribe to this service or if you are using this service from Airtel movies, do let us know your feedback.

It’s really easy to delete applications on the iPhone. Just put the apps into the jiggle mode by holding them for a few seconds and then hitting the cross button. But what if you wanted to delete a folder. A new Cydia tweak for iPhone called UnFolder has been created by Filippo Bigarella to let you do exactly that. Video demo included after the break.
