We have watched any video online whether it is a latest music video or a fun filled time pass video. And recently YouTube also extended its file limit to 15 minutes so now you can check out more interesting and lengthy videos online. But when it comes to download videos then it is kind of mess, finding right tool, software and then check out that it supports specific websites or not.

I came across a user-friendly online tool KeepVid which will make downloading video easy from all popular websites like YouTube, MegaVideo, Flickr, Dailymotion, Facebook, Google Video, Vimeo, Metacafe, Photobucket, eHow, TED, TwitVid, Ning, Current, Clipfish.de, blip.tv, Break and more.

You can also use the browser bookmarklet to download videos while watching. You just need to drag the button to your link toolbar in browser. Whenever you like any video, you just need to click on “Keep it!” while watching the video.

KeepVid

Here is the link of KeepVid.

The best part about KeepVid is that you can easily download your favorite video with just a click and you don’t see any mess on the layout of KeepVid, it’s just neat and clean. Try it out and do share your views about KeepVid.

This guide has actually been tested on the said devices and works like a charm. The unlock via Ultrasn0w will work on your iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 with almost any baseband. However do make sure that your baseband is one of the following:

Go to Settings > General > About > Modem Firmware to get this info.

iPhone 3G / 3GS Basebands:

  • 04.26.08
  • 05.11.07
  • 05.12.01
  • 05.13.04

iPhone 4 Baseband:

  • 01.59.00

If your baseband is present in the lists above, that’s positive sign. Proceed with the instructions here and you will have an iPhone ready for any network. Jailbreak your iPhone if you haven’t done that already.

Make sure you have a working wifi or data connection before you click on Confirm as Cydia will try to download the app. Once the process is over the Reboot Device button will appear. Click on it and wait for your iDevice to restart. And you’re done. While it restarts you may put in any other sim card other than the carrier the phone was locked to. It worked the first time for me and without any issues. The network search is pretty fast and takes around 15 seconds maximum to register network.

Go ahead and unlock your iPhone. Let us know if you run into any issues. We might be able to lend a helping hand as always.

The great folks at iPhone Dev-Team and our current iOS superstar Comex have made available to us a Jailbreak solution for iOS 4 devices. This guide will help you jailbreak any iPhone 3G/ 3GS/ 4 device online using a website Jailbreakme.com. You don’t need a computer to perform the jailbreak.

For Your Info:
Jailbreak,
in brief, is the process of freeing your Apple device from the restrictions imposed by the manufacturer. It’s a software installation which will hence give you ability to install third party applications including those unapproved by your carrier or Apple.

This tutorial has been tested and works for all iPhone devices having the latest firmware. The latest firmware version released at the time of writing this post is 4.0.1. If your iPhone’s firmware version is older you can get 4.0 or 4.0.1 firmware here and upgrade in iTunes and then proceed as follows.

iphone-4generations.jpg

Step One:

Launch Safari and make sure you are connected to a wi-fi or cellphone data network and point it to www.jailbreakme.com

jailbreakme-iphone1.png

Step Two:

A page similar to the screenshot shown here will appear. Move the slider to right just the way you unlock your iPod to proceed with the Jailbreak.

jailbreakme-iphone2.png

Step Three:

The download process will begin and once the required files are downloaded the jailbreak will begin. Sit back patiently as the slider moves forth. This may take longer if you’re on a slow connection of if the website is facing outage.

jailbreakme-iphone3.png

Step Four:

Once you’re notified that Cydia is added press OK and you’re done. An icon for cydia should be present on your springboard once you click the Home Button. Enjoy!

jailbreakme-iphone5.png

Warning:

While the following guide has been tested to work for the suggested devices, please proceed at your own risk. Apple classifies this process as illegal and you may void your warranty. We’re also not responsible if your iPod starts mailing people on distant planets.

Note:

This process is absolutely reversible. You can simply restore your device in iTunes and set it up as a new one. You may want to do it before you take it to the Apple store for repairs.

Don’t forget to thank the guy who made all this work @Comex and do consider donating a dollar if you found this useful. A little encouragement and gratitude does go a long way.

We have all read and heard about the specifications and speeds of the various iPhones that have been released yet but that still leaves a user half perplexed as to how different the just released new generation iPhone is from its predecessor. Here’s a very practical comparison made by Mike Hellers and shown on video.

One can notice how much faster the new generation iPhone is compared to the previous releases in day to day use by looking at the launch times of the applications. The mobile safari application is one we use very often. On the other hand more intensive apps like Google Earth and Plants vs. Zombies will show you how much better the RAM and graphics hardware is on the newer iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

This video will help you make out the difference in speeds. As you can see for yourself there’s very little and negligible difference in launch times between iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. So unless it’s Facetime and Retina Display among other features that really appeal to you, you may want to stick to your 3GS and not upgrade for now. We also come to realize that hardware wise(in terms of speed and performance) the iPhone 3GS was a larger leap over iPhone 2G/3G than the iPhone 4 is over the former. Go ahead and take a look at the video for yourself.

Application launch times as observed in video:

Plants vs. Zombies

  • iPhone 4: 8.52
  • iPhone 3GS: 10.64
  • iPhone 3G: 24.20
  • iPhone 2G: 25.68

Google Earth

  • iPhone 4: 20.92
  • iPhone 3GS: 23.96
  • iPhone 3G: 30.20
  • iPhone 2G: 36.56

Seadragon

  • iPhone 4: 7.40
  • iPhone 3GS: 7.68
  • iPhone 3G: 8.72
  • iPhone 2G: 9.24

Yahoo.com on Safari

  • iPhone 4: 6.08
  • iPhone 3GS: 6.84
  • iPhone 3G: 11.48
  • iPhone 2G: 12.08
