Well if you happen to be a Jailbreak iPhone user that use iPhone’s Google Maps App often for navigation then I have some great news for you. Very soon a new navigation tweak will be available on the Cydia App store that will add turn-by-turn Voice based navigation on Google Maps application.Turn By Turn Directions for iPhone

Two of the most popular Jailbreak developers, TheZimm and InfectionFX are developing this latest tweak called as Native Turn-by-Turn Directions. Once this app is out on Cydia store, it will undoubtedly going to be the most simple and cheapest way of adding detailed Voice navigation to your iPhone. Because all the Voice Navigation Apps available for iPhone at present are having quite a high price tag.

Here is a YouTube link of a Demo video released by the Developers, by the looks of it Turn by Turn Direction Tweak surely looks promising giving an innovative new add-on to the Google Maps Application.

Do let us know which GPS voice navigation iPhone application are you using? If you happen to be in India, I would love to know your Favorite iPhone GPS app for Indian roads?

Technology isn’t just optional in the modern business world. Thanks to the fast-paced world of modern tech, businesspeople — regardless of their field or role — will want to stock up on more than a handful of modern day electronics.

Here are eight of the items that no serious businessperson should go without.

1. WiFi Hotspot Card

This nifty little device basically works as your portable internet connection, courtesy of either cell phone companies or independent groups. The device will run about $100 with a contract, and service ranges from roughly $40 to $80 per month.

2. BlueTooth Headset

They give us hands-free headsets in the workplace for a reason. Oddly enough, you’ll need your hands while you’re on the go, too. Whether it’s for making notes on your computer or idly organizing files while taking a call, a BlueTooth Headset is a simple way to increase your productivity — and these days will cost you as little as $20.

3. GPS Navigation

Being punctual is incredibly important when you’re going to business meetings, and knowing your way around will save you a huge headache while on a business trip. It’s well worth the cost, which starts at around $100.

4. A Webcam & Mic

Internet meetings are more and more common these days, so you better get a webcam and microphone so you can fill your virtual seat. The nice thing is that this is shockingly affordable, starting at around $25 for a very viable setup.

5. A Thumb Drive

As you travel, your data will need to as well. While burning DVDs was once a great idea, there’s now a much simpler solution: the thumb drive. This little flash storage device can easily transport all of your major files. The best part? You can literally pick up a 4gb model for around $15.

6. A Laptop or Netbook

If you want to be truly productive on the road, a laptop or netbook (especially when paired with a WiFi hotspot) is a must. Especially thanks to web enabled applications, these computers can do anything your full-sized computer can. The cost for your system will range anywhere from about $250 to about ten times that amount.

7. A Smartphone

Times have changed, and while a smartphone wasn’t even a twinkle in someone’s eye a decade ago, it’s now a mandatory cornerstone of business functioning. While these devices are pricey, ranging anywhere from $150 to $700, many of the above items — GPS, mobile hotspot, thumb drive, even a webcam — are integrated into the higher end models.

Note: This interactive infographic (can’t figure out how to embed on here, so click the badge below) actually shows the evolution of cell phones in an interesting and fun way. Look for the easter eggs :)

Moble - Cell Phone Evolution

8. Time Burners

While on the road, you will also need to keep yourself sane. It’s a good idea to have at least one piece of technology designed to prevent your brain from going numb. Our top choices? MP3 players and eBook readers.

We all know the old adage, “It takes money to make money.” Now more than ever, though, the money invested isn’t just into sellable products and business framework, but into technologies like those listed above. Not only are these items fun to play with, but they increase productivity, effectiveness, and in the end will ramp up profits.

Here I am sharing 3 useful Google Chrome notification extensions with the help of which you will never miss any mail, tweet, article and message by just intalling these 3 small yet powerful extensions.

Google chrome

Google chrome

GMail Notifier

I am a Gmail fan and always recommend it over any other email service. Now quickly get notified whenever you get any mail by installing Gmail Notifier. As you will get a mail, a small popup will appear in the down left corner of the browser. If you don’t want to read the mail at that time, close the popup and number of unread mails will appear on Gmail icon near the URL bar.  You can also quickly compose email from anywhere on the browser. <link>

Useful Google Chrome Extensions:

Facebook Notifier

A small yet useful plugin which notifies you of new messages, notifications, friends request etc. Simply hover over the Facebook icon to see notifications or click it to go to Facebook.com. <link>

Feedly Magazine

Never miss any article and tweet with Feedly. Feedly is integrated with Google reader & twitter and shows recent posts and tweets from your subscriptions in magazine style layout which is easy and fun to browse. After installing feedly, you will see a small icon in the lower left corner of your browser, when you will click on it, a menu will appear from where you can save a page for reading later, share it with your friends and it also show related sites to the site you are browsing so can also subscribe to them. <link>

Are you using these extensions? Did you found these useful? Do share more such extensions with us!

This is a very bad news for BSNL 3G subscribers as BSNL has slashed  its 3G and 2G data plans and replaced its all unlimited plans by limited usage plans. As we should know that BSNL was offering unlimited 3G plan at Rs.1359/month (Rs.1499 prepaid) and 2G plan at Rs.249/month (Rs.274 prepaid). Though current  BSNL 2G Tariff plan and BSNL 3G Tariff plans are still available and new tariffs will come into effect since 18 Feb 2011.

bsnl-3g

Unlimited 3G and 2G plans are replaced by limited usage plans as given below.

Replaced Prepaid 3G Plans

  • 15 GB Plan: Rs 1500/month
  • 35 GB Plan: Rs 3000/month

( Rs.0.02/10KB after free usage in both plans)

Replaced Postpaid 3G Plans

  • 15GB Plan: Rs 1359/month
  • 35 GB Plan: Rs 2720/month

( Rs.0.02/10KB after free usage in both plans)

Replaced Prepaid 2G Plan

  • 6 GB Plan: Rs 270/month

( Rs.0.02/10KB after free usage )

Replaced Postpaid 2G Plan

  • 6 GB Plan: Rs 249/month
