This may come as a surprise to some, but for everyone else it’ll be a relief. Nokia N900, which runs on the OS Maemo, is a great tool for developers and crazy guys who like to hack and break into their phones and make it do awesome things, but for a normal user, Maemo can be quite twitchy.

Obviously the Nokia N900 has awesome features that enables it to run Android and other OS’s on its hardware. A few days ago DrunkDebugger started working on a platform transplant for the Nokia N900, the idea being ‘to successfully transplant Maemo with the new Android 2.3.1 a.k.a Gingerbread’.

It’s still a work-in-progress though, as all the features of the Android OS aren’t quite functional on the Nokia N900.
