Earlier today, Apple released the very first software update for the all new iOS 5, but it’s only for developers. iOS 5.0.1(9A402), which was released just for developers, supposedly fixes the new found battery issues in iOS 5. Recently, there have been a lot many reports from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users stating that they’re facing battery issues. Apple looked in to it and confirmed that it had something to do with iOS 5, hence they got to work. So, yes, this is a developers beta, but it brings some more to the table. Apple has also mentioned in the changelog, that the multi-tasking gestures on the original iPad has been re-enabled, iCloud document syncing has been improved and the Siri has been fine tuned for Australian accent.
9to5Mac also noted that the Smart Cover security flaw discovered earlier has also been given the Apple treatment and is now a gonner. That’s all that the new iOS 5.0.1 beta brings to all those developers who’re trying to make the world a better place. Also, the fact that a public update looks closer.
Have you been facing any battery problems on your iOS device? If so, the wait is almost over, as soon there will be an update that will fix that and more.
