Since this app is not available through the App Store yet, you need a jailbroken iOS device to run iTransmission. Once you have jailbroken your iPhone, launch Cydia and go to Manage > Sources > Add and add this repo http://repo.insanelyi.com.
Once the repo is added just search for iTransmission and then install it. Not all features of iTransmission are fully functional at the moment but the basic features of downloading and uploading will work just fine.
After installing iTransmission, quit Cydia and launch the new app from your springboard.
How to Download Torrents on your iPhone:
You first need the URL of a torrent in order to start a download. So just visit any torrent site and search for a file you wish to download. In the example here, we chose a torrent file from thepiratebay.org. Once you reach the torrent download page, tap and hold the link and then select copy to put the torrent link on your clipboard.
Now in iTransmission, tap on the plus icon at bottom and then on URL. Paste the torrent URL we just copied and tap on OK.
By default the torrent will stay paused when you add a new one to the download list. Just tap on the resume button to start downloading.
You can also view more details about any particular torrent by tapping on it. You will then see info like detailed progress on download/upload status, download location etc.
You might have also noticed the other buttons at the bottom of the app.
We are already familiar with the first button now. The second button is to refresh the page. The last two buttons are for Bandwidth control and Preferences.
If you tap on the bandwidth button you will be able to control settings like Global download/upload speed limits and the number of maximum connections.
iTransmission can download torrents using both the Wi-Fi or your cellular data network. The latter is disabled by default. If you are sure you want to download torrents over 3G, EDGE or GPRS, go to preferences and set Cellular Network to ON.
We’ll keep you updated about more developments on transmissiom app. We really hope that this wonderful app comes of out of Beta soon and we see a final public release. Do let us know how you like the ability to download torrents on your iPhone or iPad.
