How to Add Subtitles & Captions to YouTube videos

How to Add Subtitles & Captions to YouTube videos

I’m a video blogger and I create videos to explain tutorials. You can catch me on Youtube @denharsh. I use Camtasia to create any video which is a complete video creation and editor software. In this tutorial I will be sharing how you can add subtitles to your Youtube video.  To add Caption into your Youtube video  we will be using one official web tool from Youtube known as CaptionTube. <link>

caption-tube

Using Caption tube you can directly link to your youtube profile (Google) and select video which you want to add subtitles. You also have an option to add youtube video by Link and add the captions.

Step by Step tutorial

Go to CaptionTube and login using your Google account.

Click on Personal videos and select the video which you want to add caption.

import-video Once the video is imported, click on Edit to start adding Subtitles to your Video:

add-caption

Click on Add caption, add your text and specify start time and time duration for which you want that text to appear.

save-caption

Click on Save Caption and again click on Add caption and add another caption. You need to take care of start time and time frame for which you want subtitle to appear.

Once done click on Publish.

You have option to publish it to youtube, download it to computer, Email or directly copy the code for subtitles with timestamp (Youtube standard).

I select publish to youtube option:

publish-youtube

That’s it and your subtitle will be live but this may take couple of minutes. If this gives you error, I suggest download the subtitle file and add it manually into your Youtube videos.

Here is a video tutorial which I did, which will help you to add subtitles into your Videos:
