WakoopaAt any given time, I’m using approximately 16 applications even though my taskbar shows none! Nope, no virus here. They are just the usual applications which make my experience complete. To name a fewDigsbyTrayIt, Dell Quick Set, Avira AntivirRocket Dock, Intel WirelessPro, Internet Download Manager in short just the usual background applications I use on a daily basis.

Wakoopa, is a rather hiphop name for what it offers. Its a web service which works on a simple principle : track your most used software and brings out a detailed report on the most popular applications used by you and your peers.

Why would you want your usage to be scrutinized. Well, for the privacy freaks I’ll clear the air by saying it tracks only the software you and not your personal information. So, the advantages are obvious.

  1. You get to interact and share your preferred apps with a community
  2. Meet like minded people who share the same zeal as you
  3. Find out what’s the best and most productive, efficient program
  4. The latest and free software’s are reviewed and can choose from the better ones by comparing the ratings.

Wakoopa enables you to write reviews for the software you love. It has communities which you can join depending upon your interest. You just need to install a little tracker(350KB) so that Wakoopa can track your usage stats. Its fairly light on the resources.

Wakoopa Avatars

You are assigned an avatar depending upon how much have you used Wakoopa. If you’ve installed tracker then its just a matter of how many hours you’ve spent on the system. All your software usage pattern is tracked automatically.

The most interesting fact I got to know was that I use Windows Explorer a lot only next to Firefox. Beat that! Wish to know, what apps I use? Goto My Profile at Wakoopa.
