After Facebook Places, now Foursquare have also released its new 2.0 version. The new version seems to be more promising and focuses majorly on To Do Lists and Add to My Foursquare.
According to Foursquare Blog:
When we started foursquare, we dreamed it would be much more than check-ins. We really wanted to build tools that would help people collect and share their real-world experiences.
The new Foursquare 2.0 version is having separate sections for both Tips and To-Dos. So that users can get more out of To-Do List like once you will add anything to your To-Do List, you will see a blue ‘ dog ear’ for that place and it will give you alert to nearby saved To-Do’s and reminders about a saved To-Do when you check in at the specific venue. Foursquare is also upgrading the Tips experience. Tips will now be featured more prominently on venue pages, and Foursquare will be ranking Tips by popularity, as well as drawing users’ attention to Tips left by friends.
Another good feature added to Foursquare 2.0 is “Add to My Foursquare”. This feature helps you to add a place to your map which you can check out later. So whenever you are visiting a new place this new feature will connect what you find on the web with your To-do list and then you can easily read the review of that place on your iPhone.
Foursquare also said that it in USA, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Zagat, Time Out Chicago, Time Out New York, National Post, and New York magazine will be implementing buttons like Facebook’s “Like” buttons to let you add to My Foursquare details.
The new 2.0 version is better than earlier one to provide you quick and easy to save the places you want to visit and save To-Do’s for future. The new version is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. You can download Foursquare 2.0 from iTunes.
