Do you download Software from CD?

in Geek Stuff

I have many friends, some are as geek as me if not less and some who cant figure out the difference between WAP and GPRS.

This post is dedicated to the latter, how many times have you heard something like: “Hey! Thanks for getting me that CD. I’ll download it to my computer and give it to you tomorrow.”

Or something like, “The website was so cool, I just copied it from the server to my PC!”

How on earth does someone “download” things from the CD or in this case any removable storage – for all those people who think you can download stuff from your friend’s hard disk. You have all my sympathies with you.

These two sentences put  me off! I get suicidal thoughts as to how could someone be so ignorant and say something as crude as that!

Downloads happen only on a network.

Stuff can be copied only from some Storage Medium example – CD/DVD/Floppy/Pen Drive

And then there are those who go a step further saying, “I’ll download my video on YouTube.”

Such species haven’t heard of the word “Upload”. I just cannot summon up the courage to ignore such ignorant statement.

All I’ll say is “Please forgive them for they know not what they say and Do! Amen”

Please share your own experiences and anecdotes if you have them.
