CyanogenMod 7.1 Android 2.3.7 Now Available for Download

If you’re an Android user, then I bet you love to customize your device, because that’s one of the most impressive things about the Android OS. And if you’re such an user, you must’ve heard of CyanogenMod. They’re like the best Custom ROM developers for Android phones, and are trying to make the world a better place by including the latest Android OS in their ROM’s, even if they’re unofficial.

Most of the mobile phones aren’t treated well, they’re just made and then forgot about. Some phones still run on Android 1.6, when Android 2.3.7 is where the world currently is at. CyanogenMod understands that and tries to do the best they can on this matter. So, the team from CyanogenMod have released version CM 7.1 based on Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 and it is now available for download for 67 devices.

Here’s the complete list of all new devices that have been added to the growing list:

  • HTC Desire S
  • HTC Incredible S
  • HTC Incredible 2
  • LG Optimus 2X and T-Mobile G2x
  • Motorola Backflip (Motus)
  • Motorola Cliq / Cliq XT
  • Motorola Defy
  • Motorola Droid 2
  • Motorola Droid X
  • Samsung Captivate
  • Samsung Fascinate
  • Samsung Mesmerize
  • Samsung Showcase
  • Samsung Vibrant
  • Samsung Galaxy S
  • Samsung Galaxy S2 (multiple carriers)
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia X8
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Play
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc
  • ZTE V9
However, other independent developers who can be found at various forums all over the internet will be cooking Custom ROMS for even more devices. So, if you’re device is not in the list, then you can do a Google search to find out other places where you can get a ROM for your device. Remember to root your Android device before you try any of this and take a backup.

Head over to the official CyanogenMod 7.1 download page to get your version.
