Personally, I believe it’s a little late for Apple to sell unlocked iPhone 4 in the United States at this time, but then it’s Apple, they can do anything and still sell iPhones. Apple iPhone 4 until now were only available locked to AT&T and Verizon, although Apple will now be selling unlocked iPhone 4 in Apple Stores.
Why do I think it’s a bad time for Apple to sell the iPhone 4 in United States? Because for more than a year Apple has been selling locked iPhone 4 from Verizon and AT&T which has been bought by most Americans. So deciding to sell unlocked iPhone 4 now isn’t such a good idea, since there are also rumors of a new 4G capable iPhone 4S or 5 coming in September this year. Also only the AT&T networks Data services is compatible with the unlocked version of iPhone 4, the T-Mobile 3G won’t work. So it’s not of really great use for the Americans as such! Unless they decide to travel to other countries to use other supported micro-SIM cards.
Another reason behind this sudden decision maybe because Apple wants to sell as many as iPhone 4 before introducing a new version of the iPhone. They’ve even ordered less number of iPhone for production this year.
So if you’re deciding or have been waiting for long to get an unlocked iPhone 4, then now is the right time. You can buy Official unlocked iPhone 4 from the U.S Apple stores now and even Apple Retail stores.
iPhone 4 Unlocked 16GB – $649
iPhone 4 Unlocked 32GB – $749
In case you’re a traveler then you should probably get the unlocked iPhone 4 and enjoy the best of the mobile world, before there’s an iPhone 5 or some kind of Alien Invasion.
