Everyday, millions of Indians travel by train. The Indian Railways, largest rail network in the world runs hundreds of trains and it is indeed a difficult task keep all train on time. Commuters often have to track the running status of their trains and status of their reservation tickets.

The android application: Indian Railway Train Alarm tracks the running status of your train and notifies you if the train is running later or if it is expected to arrive on time. This application also tracks the reservation status of your wait-listed ticket and notifies you the status changes.

How does this work ?

The user can enter the PNR number and create an alert. The application then monitors the running status of the train. If the train is running late or is expected to arrive early, the application notifies you by ringing an alarm. Thus, you do not have to worry about calling the railway enquiry to find the running status.

If the reservation status of your (wait-listed) ticket is updated, the application will notify you. So, you do not have to track the PNR status again and again. The application also stores your ticket details, so that you do not have to enter the PNR number again and again.

You can also create alerts without a PNR number by entering the train number and the station code. You can also check the PNR status, train schedule of the train. The application allows you download the train schedule and save it on your mobile for offline usage. Thus, if you want to view the schedule again, you can view it without internet connection.

Here are some screen shots of the application:

The Indian Railway Train Alarm application is a free app and is supported on Android OS 2.1 and above.

You can download the application from : Android Market or scan the below image from your Android phone.
