Acer Iconia Tab A500 Now Available on Best Buy

Acer Iconia Tab A500 Now Available on Best Buy

We told you about the Acer Iconia Tab A500 few weeks ago, and that it was scheduled for an April 24th launch. Well, it has happened, the Iconia Tab is now available at online Best Buy stores and will soon be available in Stores starting today. The Iconia Tab A500 is another alternative tablet that you may want to consider if you were planning on getting yourself the Motorola Xoom or the Asus Eee Pad Transformer.

Honeycomb tablets aren’t available in bulk, as the OS is just starting to pick up in the tablet field. So if you’re considering a similar spec’d tablet as the Xoom or Transformer and do not want to empty your pockets on the Apple iPad 2, then this is the tablet for you.

The Acer Iconia Tab may well be from the other side of the world, but when you look at it’s features, it’s pretty much in the same league as the others. And the aluminium back panel just makes it look more stylish and gives it that high-class feel. A recap of what the Acer Iconia Tab features:

Specifications of the Acer Iconia Tab A500:

  • 10.1 inch 1280×800 WXGA Capacitive Touchscreen display
  • Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS
  • Nvidia Tegra Dual-core processor 250, 1GHz and 1GB DDR2 RAM
  • 16 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD up to 32GB
  • A front facing 2 megapixel web camera and a rear facing 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash
  • Wi-Fi enabled, Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR, USB, G-sensor, E-compass, gyrometer and more.

Best Buy will be the first one to officially sell the Iconia Tab A500 for a previously mentioned price tag of $449, which is better priced than the iPad 2 or the Xoom. The pricing isn’t too high either, considering what you’re getting, so if you’re keen on getting yourself a Honeycomb tablet and don’t want to spend a lot, then head over to Best Buy to order one now.
