I use Tetra Copy to copy/move files from one place to another. It adjusts the Hard Disk buffers to give a speed boost in reading/writing operations. Its a real nice utility to use. While downloading the latest version I came across another application from the same company called Direct Folders.

I decided to give it a try and I’m amazed at how powerful it is. It makes your day-to-day navigation through deeply nested folders easier and cuts down your time by almost 25%. It has two basic functions.

  1. Giving you access to any folder from your desktop, you can jump to even 10 levels deep folder in a matter of 2-3 clicks.

  2. Makes Opening and saving files through the default File Dialog Box easier by providing an alterative navigation which automatically tracks the path using Windows Explorer.

As seen in the above screenshot, clicking the Direct Folder navigation brings up another menu from which you can choose a recently opened path or can go to Explorer for an easier selection experience. It even allows you to resize the File Dialog Box size!

Direct Folders is a freeware but also has a paid Pro version which has some more features.
