Next Generation iPod Touch to Feature Retina Display and Dual Camera?

The rumor count for the upcoming Apple iPod Touch 4G is incrementing so fast that soon it will be crossing the amount totaled before iPhone 4’s launch. There are so many rumors coming up regarding the iPod Touch 4G these days that it is getting harder and harder to catch up. The latest block to hit the spot has come from John Gruber of Daring Fireball who has reported that Apple is due in releasing the new iPod Touch 4G with Retina display and dual cameras just like the iPhone 4 within a ‘few weeks’.

Gruber didn’t speculated about Apple only, he also said that the upcoming Dell Streak, the latest smartphone from Dell will be costing around $300 with an AT&T contract and $550 without it. “That’s almost twice as much as a good iPod touch, and if you wait a few weeks to buy the Touch, you’ll get one with a Retina Display and dual cameras,” Gruber wrote. Although while writing these rumors, Gruber declined to give any sources for the information he was leaking.

One thing which should be noted that what Gruber is stating is in accordance with the tens of reports published online stating that the new iPod Touch 4G will feature dual cameras and FaceTime support. Also, the latest beta of iOS 4.1 released recently supports video chat by inputting the user’s e-mail address, something which seems to work perfectly on a device like iPod Touch which has no cellular access. Also, Apple has stated publically that they will be selling millions of “FaceTime supported devices”.
