    Google talk is one of the best free instant messenger client. One feature it lacks is video calling though you can have video calling for its web version of Chat.

    I have big list of friends on my Google talk list, some of them are added because of my interaction on email and it become irritating when I get bombarded with lots of chat windows on Gtalk.

    One simple way is put busy icon on Google talk status but this will not work all the time.  To get rid of this problem you can use a simple tool call GAlwaysidle.

    gAlwaysidle is a light weight software which will help you to stay idle on Gtalk all the time. This is a very small piece of software and is very effective.

    You can configure the setting by right clicking on Gtalk icon in your taskbar.
