Apple iPad is being targeted by Hackers according to a report from telegraph. According to them hackers are trying to hack into iPad by letting them download a fake iTunes update which will open backdoor to iPad.
“A dialog box pops up telling the user that a recent iTunes update has been released for the iPad. Users who click on a link are taken to a site that looks exactly like the iTunes download web page, but the file the user downloads is actually a Trojan that installs malicious code on the machine. The Backdoor. Bifrose. AADY virus tries to steal passwords and login details for email accounts and instant-messaging services.”
Such kind of hacking attempt is very common and is used for most of platform like Windows, Mobile phones and software’s. Trojan horses are most common way of getting into any system and once Trojan file is installed on victim system ( in this case iPad) , hacker can access system remotely or configure Trojan to send private information’s like Email login, bank details or in worst case, all the keywords tapped by user and timely screenshots.
iPad owners should take precaution and always check the URL of the web page before downloading any software, files or updates.
